Wintergarten (Conservatory)
In November 2014, the Kurhaus Baden-Baden was given a new, attractive function room: the conservatory! In combination with the Runder Saal or the Bénazetsaal, it provides an area that can be put to highly varied use, for example for coffee breaks, receptions, as additional exhibition area or promotion zone.
The glass and steel structure with its variable lighting concept offers a pleasant possibility for being outside while remaining protected. Looking out on the outside area, the conservatory is fully glazed with doors that can be opened when the weather is good. It is also possible to open some of the windows in the filigree roof. Underfloor heating has been installed in the dolomite stone floor so that the area can also be used during the colder months of the year.
The adjoining outside area covering around 160 square meters adds further possibilities for mild summer nights. The beautiful fountain with its Maiolica figures that dates back to the original construction period 1935-37 has also been restored.
The remarkable thing about the architectural design of the new conservatory is that the historical elements such as the Doric columns, the wall decorations or the recently renovated fountain underline the splendour of the Kurhaus, while the new modern construction recedes into the background, giving the whole structure a new flair.
